Lake MInnewaska ice and fishing report 1/3/2019
1/3/2019 - Lake Minnewaska ice and fishing report
The ice on minnewaska is pretty much between 13-15 inches. Lots of truck travel on the lake, however over the Priest Point where
the open water was, there will not be that much ice, so please be aware of that. Most of the landings froze up with the cold spell we
have been having, and are passable. Travel on the lake isn't too bad, there are many plowed roads on the Glenwood Side. Fishing has slowed
some with the cold snap we had, but the warmer temps should start making the fish active again. 10-15 feet of water for the crappies, the bar out in front
of the DNR landing is a great choice, for lots of action with sunfish, perch, bass and northerns. At dark some crappies will move in along with
an occasional walleye. People are also out deep fishing in 18-24 feet of water looking for the walleye's. We have our XXL shinners in again,
so stop in if you need them for your tip up's. Check out our great section of tackle while you are here, and don't forget the snacks.
We open at 5:30 - and Close at 8:30 - Monday - Sunday
