Fishing/Ice Report Lake Minnewaska 11/29/2018
Ice Conditions on Minnewaska fluctuate alot. Some spots have 5" other spots have a solid 8. We still have open water by Priest Point. It is about the size
of a football field. It freezes at night, but them opens back up in the morning. Not really sure what is causing it, but use caution when traveling around
that area. There are people putting out their permanent houses 8x12 is about the biggest we have seen out there. There is 4 wheeler traffic on the lake, but have not seen any vehicles of
any kind.
Reno has a little bit more ice with that ranging from 7-9 inches. The south access has a small pressure ridge that starts about Pelican Point and
goes across to the east. Last Saturday the ice chisel went right thru - so use caution there as well. The west side off of HWY 29 is good, everyone on 4 wheeler with
trailers, plus some permanent house out there.
The pan fish bite has been crazy on Minnewaska, sunfish and crappies are doing well. Look for the weed line in 13-14 feet of water. Walleye have been
being caught towards evening, best bait of choice would be a shiner. Staying around that 15 foot range will be your best option to catch the walleye's.
Starting Friday we will be carrying spikes - we will have red and white one available in 30 count containers.
Remember we are your one stop before the Lake!
