Minnewaska Fishing Report 1/6/2017

Lake Minnewaska Fishing Report 1/6/2017 -

Happy New Year, we hope the New Year is treating you well. Fishing on Minnewaska and Reno have both been good.

Minnewaska has 14-16 inches of ice on it. There are some ice heaves forming around the lake, so you do want to watch out for

them. Best access to use is the DNR landing in Glenwood or the landing by waters edge in starbuck, espcially is you are going to be

pulling a fish house out. If you are looking for a mix bag of fish, walleye's, northern's, bass or sunfish going out towards the 'Wall' by the

DNR access is going to be a great spot to set up. It will defiantly keep the kids busy. If you are looking for just walleye's, head to the bay called

'bottle bay', it is right past priest point, they have been doing well there, and also out in front of Peter's Resort.

Reno has about the same amount of ice as Minnewaska, trucks, duel axel fish houses going all over the lake. Out in front of the Green Iguna is a

good place to set up for panfish and walleye's at dark. Another good spot is over by 'blair's bar', if you are looking for Walleye's. The sunfish can be

found on the south side in 12-17 feet of water. Glow in the dark lures work great on Reno, go with the glow red or chartreuse.

Have fun fishing and remember 'No ice is Safe ice'.
